Trash Days & Times
Trash is collected on Monday and Thursday for Zone B, Tuesday and Friday for Zone A and Wednesdays and Saturdays for The Cottages.
Containers can be put out after 6pm the day before trash service and must be brought back in by 6pm the day of collection and stored out of public view. To ensure service, residents are encouraged to set garbage and recyclable materials out by 7 a.m.
2017 Holiday Collection Schedule
Participants in the municipal program will receive regular collection from WCA Waste Corp. on the following holidays:
- Monday, Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Friday, April 14: Good Friday
- Monday, May 29: Memorial Day
- Tuesday, July 4: Independence Day
- Monday, Sept. 4: Labor Day
- Thursday, Nov. 23: Thanksgiving
- Monday, Dec. 25: Christmas Day
Types and Size of Containers
Trash Must be in blue container furnished by WCA. Recycle must be in grey container Furnished by WCA. All residential waste materials except tree and yard waste must be in WCA containers.
Zone B is Thursday, Zone A is Friday, The Cottages are Wednesday and Saturday.
Trees, shrubs, brush trimmings must be bundled in lengths no greater than 4 feet with no branch diameter exceeding 3 inches to allow for easy pickup and avoid damaging equipment.
Landscape debris can be placed in a regular trash container with no plastic bag and will be picked for recycle or in biodegradable trash bags for recycle. If you wish not to recycle yard waste then put the yard waste in your blue trash can and it will be picked up on your regular trash day.
Appliances and Furniture
Items such as appliances, furniture, carpet (up to 1 room, rolled up four feet wide and less than 50 pounds) cardboard boxes, flattened, will be picked up heavy trash days this service is every other week (See Schedule). By Federal Law, refrigerators and freezers or any other items containing Freon must be drained of Freon and have an accompanying bill to validate such service was performed.
Items Excluded from Collection
Items excluded from normal collection are dirt, rocks, bricks, concrete, tires, batteries, motor oil, cooking oil, waste generated by a private contractor or any materials or items deemed hazardous materials.
Special Pick Up
Other than normal amounts of residential refuse, yard trimmings or bulk items, if notified in advance WCA will meet with a resident prior to collection day to determine a price. If a resident does not notify WCA of such a special pick up before its scheduled day, then WCA will leave a notice for the resident to contact the office during normal hours before the next scheduled pick-up.
